Glad to see you back in the contest Steve. I enjoyed both of your comics here, and was really impressed by the difference in style. You got 5/5 stars and a fav from me.
**********************************************************
Everything fit really well, the art, colors, story, letters easy to read. Angus is such a little S.O.B., the story made me think of south park, -it's so wrong (kid kills Santa), but so funny. I normally don't like humor comics that much, but this one really got to me.
*********************************************************
SCREEN 1 We start off with an establishing shot, and thanks for that. Santa nailed to a cross of credit cards, I loved the symbolism (so true), and I loved the teachers reactions. The art style you used here really fit the story so well. I loved the layout of the screens throughout.
**********************************************************
SCREEN 2 A T.J. Hooker joke, I couldn't help but laugh. Christmas finds you like of faith... Muppets... great lines. The dialogue you have throughout the comic is great, but the words spoken between the little psycho and his dad are the best, -I love their interaction. It was funny, but had a more to the story element about it. Really impressive. My fav panel was panel 3 I really liked the way you framed it.
************************************************************
SCREEN 3 The okay wiseman speech was like a funny version of the Ezekiel speech from Pulp Fiction. Some of the smartest and funniest dialogue on Zuda. 12 gauge pixie stick, lol a classic line if ever their was one. A great job on the colors for this one, and in you panel composition.
**********************************************************
Screen 4 "This is your last warning fat man" again a classic line. The way you set-up the shot better not... POOM! was great. The cancer/skinhead next door was such a funny line, I hope you keep going with this comic elsewhere your dialogue is just so sharp and witty. Maybe shadowline will give your web comic a home after the contest.
*********************************************************
SCREEN 5 The sequence in panels 2,3,4,5, was great. The looks on the cop's face was brilliant. Panel 6 'in the shadow of the Christmas tree' after killing Santa was so well done. The peter falk look-a-like saying then there's still hope take that homosexual agenda in our schools, was another sharp biting, funny cool as hell line.
************************************************************
SCREEN 6 panel 3 "mommyyyyyy", great gag. I thought he would blend in with the display, the dad is so funny. Ofcourse I like the set-up of Angus's words coming back to haunt him in the next screen.
************************************************************
SCREEN 7 i loved the snow man characters, and their lines about the body being a tip off. I think the dad is the funniest character you have in this comic, the goldbergs finally did it -cue laughter. The father shows you were the son got it from.
************************************************************
SCREEN 8 Great character designs throughout, and another sharp funny line, about we know when you've been sleeping, so manslaughter won't slip under our radar. I also liked how the reindeer looked so pissed in panel 4. The cuffs being candy was a great joke to end on. Really awesome job throughout.
**********************************************************
It's not seasonal, it's kick arse all the way!!!

Oh, Christ, this is funny. The dad is the best part; too bad it looks like he's going to be out of the strip for awhile. I also really liked Santa's over-the-shoulder expressions and dialogue, and the NPPD is genius. Nice, clear art, and I could "hear" Angus slurring through his braces when I read his lines. I was mildly disturbed that a kid had access to a shotgun, but otherwise, really fantastic.

In terms of story... I see more story in these 8 pages than in most Zuda competitors' entries. more than my Colonel McTagart from May anyway.

Then I guess it's war Bryymiller.

Actually I'm not saying story means nothing. Obviously it's important. To me it's just of secondary importance in a humor comic. But that doesn't mean I totally disregard it.

Steve,
One point I disagree with you on is the importance of story in a joke comic. I believe that story is equal to a joke comic.

This is a pretty good concept. Seems to be pretty funny too. Although I must say after the Christmas season ends it's appeal will start to wane. Although it is still pretty good none the less. 4/5 stars and a fav.

And yeah I think you're right Sam. I'm not sure anyone has ever jumped from 7th to 1st in Zuda history. I'm guessing the Accountants is going to run away with it this month. Which I don't mind. It's a funny comic.

The comedy is great. Very well done, and it's a quite welcome break from the dark horror stories that we see month after month. The bright colors, the character designs... we need more of stuff like this.
