At the peak of the Second Cold War, the USA launch a Dimensional Bomb which kills 90% of the Euro-Asiatic population, and causes the collapse of USA. But the most negative consequence of this disaster is the destruction of the Earth's twin dimension, the Realm of Death. The screaming souls of all who once inhabited the Realm of Death invade the Earth, taking possession of the dead bodies and bringing destruction to the living. The leader of this huge army of zombies is the God of the Void, Lord of the Realm of Death, who wants to conquer the Earth to re-build his reign.
In 2048 humans are living under siege. Only a few of them have the courage to cross the border and go forward into the lands of the Living Dead. Sheldon and his team of survivors are looking for food when they get lost. Waiting for them is the 4th Division of the USA Army. Dead. Resurrected. Fully armed. Only Blue Leaf can save them. She is a Shaman-Girl whose duty it was to guide the departed to the Realm of the Death, before its destruction. Her ancient knowledge could bring back peace to the world, but first she must face her hate for the same humanity that has provoked so many disasters. A hard task, but the Great Spirit, the Entity who has always watched over planet Earth, talks to her. And Sheldon will be at her side.

Hey, guys. I'm putting together the Zuda Wiki and "by Azurek Studios" just isn't cutting it. I will need names.

Good stuff. Really would like to read more. The whole spiritual side of the story adds a nice dimension (no pun intended). Having zombies because something destroyed the realm of death, and a shaman being the secret to saving everything...great stuff!
I second what MPD said. Tell us where to find more. Hey Rob you got room over at AA?
I backed you right to the end. I'm not sure if that's a curse or a blessing, but I thought it was a great comic. I hope it continues somewhere - just let us know where!
been fun competeing with you guys! I wish you all the luck in the world with your comics, whether it's with Robodeath or something else!
-steve
Thanks Rudis!
killer Artwork, guys. I know why MPD and dshide love your comic. its pure cool. i would read this and be happy if it won, if i weren't so selfish to vote for my own.
COME ON EVERYONE!! CHANGE YOUR VOTE TO GOLDEN!!! THIS IS THE LAST PUSH! LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mmm, maybe is a thing that comes out at a second reading, but effectively Blue Leaf has an important part on the story since the beginning, because of her captions. But I don't want to change your mind. I started writing a new pitch and the same thing happened: an important character makes his appearance at page 8. I'm re-writing it, to avoid this pattern, and I'm going to use your suggestions...
Yeah Marco, I had the similar critique of Action Ohio. Me, I just don't like character's coming out at the end like that. It's hard for me to explain. Where "E"'s mysterious man behind the scenes and Celadore's skulking spirit, as characters coming out in the end, added a twist or revelation to the story/action, it felt as though Blue Leaf should have been more involved with the story--especially since it was her voice-over narration. She seemed a little disconnected from the rest of the story. Like I said, maybe if I could've seen where she was or what was she doing in context to robot/undead battle scenes, maybe I could've put her in better perspective.
I agree, an 8-pager is kind of a beast to start off an origin piece but I do feel like you had good pacing.
Hello guys!
We are hoping in a revolution in the competition, but we are also working to have Robodeath online next month. I don't have an web address now, but I'll post it once we'll be ready. Meantime, if someone want to be in contact, this is my myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/ravingtales . I check it everyday, and even if I'm slow, I will reply to everyone!
To Riverhelix: thank you for the critics and comment even if I don't agree with you: I believe that the appearence of Blue Leaf at the end is a good cliff-hanger. You can see the same thing in most of the comics this month: the Children of BigHand appear at the end, and the same is for Evelyn's spirit in Celadore and idem for the detective girl in Action Ohio. Is part of the Zuda Submission format, I think. Then, about the climax of the scene: the scene isn't finished yet, we are still in the middle of the action. We'll reach the climax during the summer!
in the sense Bob Barr has a *chance* to win the presidency of the U.S.A., Or the lib dems end up running the show in the U.K. -yes.
Hey, you can continue reading it right here - it's going to win! I mean there is a chance right?
I enjoyed this comic far more than I thought I would, credit and kudos goes to you guys for telling another GODFORSAKEN!!! zombie story that I actually liked reading. You didn't end up with my vote, but if you keep on with this comic Let us know where so we can follow your story.
The art added a good style and feel to the story- especially in depicting the death-ness of the setting. It's not my favorite art style but it works here. I just have some issues with the story... don't ask me why but the transformation of the robot really didn't do it for me. Maybe because the climax was placed on the transformation rather than the robot battling its way through the ranks of undead militia. And then having the shaman pop up on me at the end-I think it jolted me away from the battle too fast. Perhaps if she was shown in the panel overlooking the raw carnage from a cliff... Also if you gave me some sort of conjecture of her presence maybe in the first two pages (instead of the second page splash), maybe page 8 would have worked out a little better for me.
Thank you for the comments again!
I really like what you guys have going on here - the intricate line work is very interesting and the story really looks like it's going somewhere. It would be great to see more of this - nice job!
Nice job - I always enjoy the Euro style you guys have. Good luck!!
Hello Guys, I was silent to let all your wonderful comments stay on the top of the page, but it seems now it's my turn!
USA ad CSI were has been the main players and responsible of the Second Cold War. They developed their armies and weapons, creating terrible machines (Robodeaths Tanks included). The rest of the world has been a powerless witness of the incoming catastrophe. But actually the south of the world, in Robodeath, is still alive, and the shamans from South America, Africa, Australia, (and the Euro Asiatic's too) are working to have an important role on the fight to restore the reality's equilibrium...
By the by, who were the states fighting in the second cold war, or was it every other nation on the globe?
"Marco!"
"Marco!"
You moved up a spot. Keep on keepin on!!!
BRAVO!!!!
I may have said this before but I have a soft spot for zombie stories. This one, though, has originality with the living-dead's origin. Blue-Leaf seems like she will be a pretty cool anti-heroine. Great possibilities with this title. I haven't read the others but this may be the one I vote for. Nice job!
English as a second language caused you some problems here::
"meet some living dead already no?" People here in the states don't use the word no like that -at least none I have ever met. it would have sounded better if you had said "met some living dead already, right?"
"we mustn't lose our heads" "probably we are far away" It just didn't sound right.

I hate text boxes even when they are just used as a another character's overview commentary.

Liked the first screen kind of like a film pan out camera shot wise. I liked the action in the story, very good job on the zombies art wise, very good pace, and a nice intro of the magic with the shaman girl at the end. Loved robodeath we also got giant robots, transformers, meets george romero, sweet!
***********************************************************
Really impressed with the art, reminded me of geoff darrow's work. I also enjoyed the colors of the comic, and you could read the font. All good things.

Without the giant robot it would have been another zombie story, and I am beyond over the walking dead, but with the robot kick ass comic here we are!!!! Not to mention the magic element, cover all the good genre's guys sci-fi, fantasy, horror give the people what they want a good action/horror story with a lot of promise for the next screens. I was also clicking on screen 8 to see screen 9 before I realized it, would love to read the rest of the story.

I'm with MPD and deadpool, I doubt you will get my vote for keeps this month, but really a very fun comic. You did get 5 stars and a fav.

Looks great, love the artwork!
That describes my feelings about the situation precisely!
Hehehe! The only thing I can say is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBsxqQIu_5s
Hmmmm! Me and Dshide voting for the same strip. What is wrong with this picture?
COOL!
Hello everyone! Thanks again for al the feedbacks and votes.
To Mpd57, I like your comment, it catches the spirit of our comic. Robodeath it's like a b-movie, pure entertainment and visual spectacularity. There are contents too, but I believe that the less an author tries to say, the more his story will communicate. And yes, we had a lot of fun during Robodeath's creation, but the best has yet to come!
My vote is for you!
Really impressive!!I want to read more!!
I LOVE this, and can't believe it's not higher up in the rankings. You've got my vote for sure!
Robodeath is a great title. Not the most subtle of sells, but I like it. It kinda explains everything you really need to know without resorting to the word zombie. Considering how popular the zombie genre is (and I'm not a fan) I'm surprised that this isn't higher up the rankings. It's certainly 'giving them what they want'! I think one of the reasons I'm so sympathetic to this strip is all that overworked detail. It not entirely the best artwork, but I reckon you must have had a ton-o-fun drawing it. Military, Zombies, Hot Chick, Robot. Check, check, check and check. How can it lose? Oh, yeah and I love the flies! More of those. You can never draw too many flies! I think this comic demonstrates something to myself. A little like Agent Happydeath in the previous competition, I think some comics just defeat my capacity to criticise them in any objective way. There is just a random combination of things here that just float my boat. I shouldn't like this comic. But I do. I really like it. Despite the fact that it seems so trivial and obvious I just want more of it. And if a comic hits me on some deep primal level it's always more likely to win out over my (somewhat limited) intelligence! I think I've just talked myself into a vote for this one! Now I'm off to read Thor: Vikings again!
Something sick....I like that!!Good work!!
I would have liked to get to know the soldiers better. Otherwise, who cares what their death machine can do?
Run,guys,ruuuunn!!!!!!
In Neil's spirit of promoting. Come on over and vote for Golden. I know you will love it. And I am starting a little incentive contest. Here is the deal. The person who gets the most people to the Golden pages will receive a one of a kind sketch of Kintaro signed by Scott and me. Get all of your friends, loved ones and associates to stop by Zuda and take a look at Golden. If they leave a message stating that you sent them over there I will keep track and the person with the most referrals by May 23rd will receive the signed Kintaro sketch as well as a signed copy of the script. Sound fun? If you have any questions about it drop me a note here or over in the Zuda talk back section. Don't waste any time. Start getting those folks over there now!
If you want to see a picture of the sketch you will receive go here...
