So we seem to be catching some heat for using Flash. It's not "viral", there's no URL to link to, it's not "the way it's done" and so on. Lets leave all of the advantages of Flash as an application aside for the moment - thats probably a topic for another post - and talk about linking and URLs. We probably should have made this clearer from the start, but better late than never. You can link to any of our comics (ongoing or competition) by putting the name of the comic after the zudacomics.com URL. Use an underscore for a space. So, for example...

zudacomics.com/bayou
zudacomics.com/alpha_monkey
zudacomics.com/high_moon
zudacomics.com/dead_in_the_now
zudacomics.com/leprenomicon
zudacomics.com/black_swan
zudacomics.com/raining_cats_and_dogs
zudacomics.com/dead_seas
zudacomics.com/the_enders
zudacomics.com/this_american_strife
zudacomics.com/battlefield_babysitter

Link away!

Hey Red - Good question. The answer is no, the images we use for the comics in both the competition and ongoing series are a higher resolution. The 800x600 is for submissions only. If you're accepted, then you'll need to provide those same images at high-res.

Power MAC users can download flash from the adobe site to read Zuda comics. I just wanted to mention this for anyone using a power mac. I have Mac OS X 10.4 for an operating system but the viewer did not display anything. I am not supremely computer saavy so this may be obvious to many but I thought it might help a few.

I've seen people talking about "issues" with the flash interface, and have to say that i think it works perfectly. I have had no problems with it and all the comics look fantastic when using the full screen mode. Great job guys!

Yeah, the full screen is the way to go. Big, beautiful, art designed specifically to be read on screen. Plus, as Dave mentioned and as Ryan discovered, we already save your place so you automatically come back to the last screen you read and we're working on a solution to bookmark a specific page. It's in the works.

Still "<" and ">" are not working.

At first I was very sceptical about your viewing system, im kinda direct link purist and antiflash fascist, but at the moment i discovered fullscreen view I was all yours.

Im waiting to see how this system works with the longest stories.

Good Luck!

I LOVE the simple, clean look of the Flash interface and the ability to zoom in, and I wish all webcomics could look so slick. But it definitely is a drawback that you can't link to a specific page. Say I want to bookmark where I left off in a particular story, so I can continue reading later. Or I think one page is incredible and want to show my friend. The system works fine with the contest, since each submission is 8 pages, and it's important to read the whole thing. But down the line when there are 52 pages, it will be strange. Still, I think it works for Zuda in a way it wouldn't work for most other webcomics. Better for finished stories than for regular updating ones.

Hi kingofsnake (et al.),

You will be SIL shortly. That's a feature that didn't make launch but will be there, very soon. But this is not a promise; but it will happen. Not a promise. Will happen.

Not publicly promising features-ly yours,

-Dave

You can't link to a specific strip. If I wanted to link to page three of High Moon, I'm SOL.

Thats what people mean when they say they can't link to the URL
