I more or less agree with JimJamz. Cool concept, Grade-A art, and then...a bit of non-sequiteur. The narration is a little stilted to me, but nothing I couldn't get used to.

Well you get points for the girls in bikinis. Otherwise I just don't know. You introduce us to an interesting character, but the comic doesn't really set up the story, and you lost me at the end.

It was a close one. It was either Children of the Sewer or this, and I chose Little Earth People. Such a weird concept that I've never encountered before. This deserves exploration. Children of the Sewer...there are plenty of serial killer-esque stories out there, let alone here on Zuda. We need something like your story badly. Hopefully more people see that.

love it - finally a real, deep story shown in an unusual, intruiging art style. And nonsense, frequentcontributor? Bull****: i feel like I could use the projectors daily to see, understand myself better! Thanks for sharing this great idea with us on Zuda! You'll make it!

The artwork is beautiful. I love the design of everything. It keeps such a fantastic circumstance grounded in a believiable reality. The story themes are pretty big for a comic, which is why I was so engaged... This is a breath of fresh air. While a solid story has not evolved out of this yet, I am interested in this boy and want to know more. Good things.

Intriguing concept, and it's explained pretty well for the short page count. The artwork is REALLY nice. Beautiful style. I don't think there's too much exposition. That's usually how these 8-page things work.

I always love "origin stories"! And this one is beautifully done! The whole wearing-that-big-contraption-thingy took some getting used to, though... but so did Iron Man's first tin can armor. Good luck!

@frequentcontributor- thanks for your "critique" but as i noted somewhere below, the whole "can't see his own body nonsense" isn't made up, but is rather a quite interesting (in my opinion) medical condition caused by the loss of proprioception. Instead of adding even more exposition by trying to explain it in full, I tried to inject a little sci-fi playfulness into it. If that's not your cup of tea I accept that dutifully, but to call it nonsense just reflects your passion for posting. A few more things: astral projection will absolutely not be the primary drive of the series. I also hate the pop star in her first incarnation. As I loathe all of the real life MTV Sweet 16 characters she's based on. Glad you're with me there. And sorry for being the second story this month ending with a surprise character at the end. The contributors should've caught that at our annual Zuda Retreat this summer :-))

Oy, this is a mess. First, the art is nice, but the four pages of explaining the kid's problem were excessive, and the whole "can't see his own body" nonsense isn't as clever as the author thinks it is (and actually seems pretty pointless, as it looks like astral projection will be the primary drive of the series - something that does in no way require the convoluted backstory we're given...). I already hate all the characters ("reformed nihilist", while original, isn't really interesting, and one page in I want to kill that pop star...). So no, I didn't really care for this. Oh, and this is the second entry this month with a "shocking" character appearing at the protagonist's door on the last page, but there isn't any reason for us to care.

Wait wait wait! I have a better Idea!!! Make a german version then translate it into English for me that might make more sense :D

1st off, Hadley............you're scaring me dude. I didnt know that UofO could produce such a mind as yours. Of Course Matt H and Paul T are exeptions to the rule :D

Second I agree with that hilber guy I would also trade a Young Blood #1 for it.

third..... Lou....didnt knwo you had it in ya to produce a high class comic as such! Did yo udo the art and concptual work? In any case well done I like the work and look forward to the next issue.

Love,

Baumer

P.S. What I would like to see next from you is a loverly version of the Strong Brothers!!! Make it happen.... or GFY :D

Miss you silly bitches

P.S.S. It would be good to spread a little love and expose Marsha for what she really is....... a lovely rack (.)(.)
Who ever the artist is....... Nice work on the rackatoni :D
This alone gets my vote :D

Thanks for the post William Duel. But it's not a quantum issue at all. Billy's issue is actually based on the loss of our sense of proprioception, which you can read all about in Oliver Sacks' amazing piece "The Disembodied Lady" in his equally amazing book The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat. I just tried to quirk it up with a sci-fi, nihilist twist. Because there just isn't enough nihilism in comic books these days!

I dunno, the art is attractive and innovative and I'm not confused about the story, the concept is just odd and oddly executed. It's really a literal take on Quantum Physics concepts/Schroedinger's Cat kinda thing. And while it's brave in trying I don't think it fully works. Plus one thing, when he sleeps, shouldn't he cease to exist?

Billy has a problem. The freakish result of being born to nihilist parents, he can only see the world through reflections. This helps his mind position himself in relation to objects around him. If he looks up from one of these reflections for just a few moments, his mind loses its sense of where his body should be, and Billy leaves the world as we know it. One day shortly after watching his favorite reality TV star, Marsha McLuhan, Billy opens the front door to find a robed meerkat with the unlikely name of Fordilep Skyordisz von Meer on his porch. Fordilep shows Billy that what he sees might not be all there is to his world. In fact, what Billy thinks of as reality is just one of many layers. In doing this, Fordilep sets events into motion that will culminate in Billy learning the secrets of the universe, Marsha waking up to the fact that she’s more than just a media darling, and a lonely writer named Filson Hubert realizing that his creations might not want to remain in his head. And all the while, the Moon Men are ready to attack!
