Rhagadorr, a distant and oppressed planet where a people have lost hope. But there exist a legend of a chosen one from a alien land who will come to liberate their world. Seeking to fulfill that legend, Nilrehm, the master wizard, creates portals that will grant any would-be-savior access to his oppressed planet, These portals, taking the form of trees, are dispersed throughout the universe, their roots finding nourishment in the soils of many distant and varied worlds.
That is the story of the Amazing Door Tree and how it came to grow on the fringe of country wood next to the home of a little girl...named Molly.
Join Molly and her dog Sydney as they experience friendship, adventure and danger in the magical land beyond...The Amazing Door Tree

Enjoyed this I did! Would enjoy enjoying more of this enjoyment!
This is lovely. Great job, deserves to be higher up.
Really enjoyed your premise and art style. I voted for you day one, wishing you the best of luck this gets to make it on in same way.
I really enjoyed this one, love the art style. The concept is very intriguing. Hope to see more of it. Nice work!
thanks for the support in the Robot 6 interview! and I hope you end up being able to continue the strip.
I still love the design of the door tree :) Especially on the last screen.
Very nice job setting up the concept. Clean and attractively laid out. Could use a bit more hint of intrigue or mystery but good piece of work.
I like this story very much, its not my vote, but it is a favorite. Fun story, Fun art, and nice pacing. My only caveat is the inconsistency of the character design, but other than that, well done. My wife and l like it a lot.
:)
That octopus design is WIN. I would love to read more of this.
Great, Mark... Cool stuff, man!!
Great art (so clean!) and a fun story - I agree with BlueJeremiah who compared this to an old Kroft kids cartoon - this has all the fun and easy access of a good children's cartoon without a lot of the preachiness we see in today's kids cartoons. This is EXACTLY the type of comic I would read to my daughter and she would love it.

This deserves to be much higher than where it is now. You get a vote and fave from me!
this deserves much more than 9th place.
This story looks like it could be a lot of fun. The design work is pretty standard kid's storytelling... but if it ain't broke, have a lot of fun with it. It's very refreshing to see an adventurous young girl take the forefront for a change. She reminds me of Dorthy. Good things.
This comic was just plain fun! That big old purple guy reminded me of Sigmund the Sea Monster from 70s. Bring on the adventures!
Mark Murphy is an amazingly talented artist and storyteller. I'm excited to see where this adventure leads.
Sad to see this hanging low--don't think the Zuda audience is going to be the biggest fanbase for this--but hey, I like it ;-) It's cute, but it definitely has a younger appeal. Good luck with the competition!
I liked the bright, cartoony artwork. The silhouette of the trees in the background on the last page was a nice touch.
I like the fairy tale vibe happening, and the art compliments the story quite nicely.
This could be fun. I could see this as a cartoon my older nieces would love to watch.
It reminds me of Reno, another fav of mine on Zuda. So close to moving my move here. Good luck.
Thanks to everyone for their comments and good wishes. I'm enjoying the experience tremendously. There's still plenty of month left for Molly And The Amazing Door Tree to catch-up!
Hands down the best of the bunch. Artwork was great, layouts wonderful, character design enjoyable and great, adventurous story. I hope to see this continue.
Howdy. If you're interested, my review of this comic can be read here. Good luck with the competition:

I like how the ending sets up a series of adventures. Nicely done!
It’s not my type of comic but I enjoy reading it through the last page, just simple and lovely, a little pearl among all this comics full of vamps, aliens and superfolks. Good Luck!!
Love the design of the tree. Fun stuff.
Fun Story with LOTS of possibilities! Used to like these kinda storys a lot .(Still do, now that I think about it.)
Well drawn, nicely colored... I like this! Always a sucker for the whole normal person wakes up on an aline world or find a door to another dimension type stories. Plus it look like something that WHEN it wins and WHEN it gets published I can buy it for my young nephews. ;)

This is a cute little story that I'd like to read more of. I wish you'd established a little more though. I don't know what the conflict is going to be yet. It has a great fairy tale feel though, I could totally see tim burton running with this.
I love door trees :) Have even seen blogs about them.
i love how clear and approachable this story is! good job! the art fits the lighthearted nature of a children's book. the rock coming thru the tree door was a nice touch but i think it would have been really interesting if the monster followed her back. there is a hopeful adventure to the ending, but no sense of danger or conflict. have to admitt you did a god job of establishing characters that i care about. especially the monster!! ha! good luck!
Hmm... Fairly interesting, but I would have to wonder why the girl never noticed the weird tree before. Also, the story moves a bit slow; a good ending, but more could have happened while in the fantasy land. Also, the fantasy land is in no way near as interesting as the real world, here. It looks like a bad, bland cartoon. I kept wishing I was reading The Maxx, because that comic had a really epic, strange feel to the alternate reality. This just fell a little flat for me, especially with no conflict. Adventure is great, but where is the bad guy, or a missing little brother sucked into the vortex? We need a reason to want more.
I agree with MPD - could have been tighter but you've got my vote for now
I really want this to win. Wonderful premise, simple in it's own way, and easily understandable in terms of 'fantastic' fiction for kids. Terrific and fun art, adventurous and resourceful female lead(with cute dog) The look is great the layout is great, the character design is cute and (to use everyone else's word) charming. Good luck with this!
A well rendered cute puppy sure doesn't hurt none!
Blip! Charming but could've been tighter in the concept, still pretty good though and it would be nice to see this do well.
Sweet! Excellent ideas and an altogether charming comic that's really enjoyable and sets up the whole concept well. Any chance we'll see Big Blue Tentacles follow Molly and Sydney home and impose himself on the human world? Anyway, good luck with this great entry!
Excellent narrative. Solid concept and delivery. I was drawn to the design of the tree from the first screen. Good Luck this month.
Blip!
Yeah, the competition is getting tougher every month. This is a great entry.
This is pretty good stuff, Mark. High marks for the storytelling aspect and the art. Good luck this month!
