In his mist shrouded past, he fell defending Southern Britannia from the Roman Army... In what passed for Britannia's army, he had raped and pillaged at will, spreading his funky and foul seed from woman to woman with no regrets. Did he die of a sexual disease or had age slowed him down to fall under the stroke of a short sword? Perhaps both. He died (that at least we know) for five days and then was born again, as A Stinking Corpse'. Cursed by the goddess who resurrected him, to wander the land until the day he found a woman to love him, despite his grotesque form. He is now driven to right the wrongs he had done in life, until that day when he finds true love...

Cool! Thanks everyone!
I look forward to seeing you Sci-Fi comic in Zuda, and seriously give Heavy metal a try with this story. :)
Hi Furman, I've got a fantasy comic script that needs illustrating, and I'd love to collaborate with you! My e-mail is Captioncomix (at) gmail.com, and the split would be 15% me and 85% you or whatever floats your boat! I just want to collaborate with someone as talented as you. A Stinking Corpse is hands-down the best drawn comic I've ever seen published on Zuda.com, and there have been some other really good ones. Your attention to details won me over this time around, and I think it sucks that you aren't in first place. Anyway, good luck with things, and I hope to hear from you soon :) -Daniel
Also, this would make a great video game story line.... consider...
Please - PLEASE continue this comic anywhere!! Between this and "Single Soul" you have some of the most original stories in a very long while. Not to mention your art style is excellent too - very off beat from the norm.

You are much, much better than to be ranked in eighth. This is a masterpiece. I hope and I'm sure that if you don't get up here that we'll see this in full elsewhere. Good luck, fingers crossed.
So sad that this is ranked so low. The art is phenominal [with the exception of a few too many up-the-nose shots.]I hope you will continue this somewhere else and that I can find it. I'd love to see more.

give us something to read also!
I love everything about this except the main character's dialogue. It just doesn't fit the art, the premise, anything. He could still have the type of attitude you're trying to convey, but it needs to be in a similar dialect as the druid. Like in Conan, he's got a bit of nonchalance to him, but he doesn't speak in modern day speech like your MC. No what I mean? But seriously, other than that, as I'm sure you know, your pencils are outstanding, the level of detail is incredible.
well daamn that art blows my mind!
awesome!
keep working hard man!
Looks Grrrrrrrrrrreat !
Love the premise and the art is wonderful black & white fine line with a detail level to give anything I've seen a run.
The artwork as everyone has said is simply superb. Exciting, sexy and violent, what more can you ask for from eight pages. I do think that the dialogue from the main character is a little out of place, but I understand that creating humerous banter is a little tough to do in old english. I don't know if you have my vote yet but this strip is definitely getting 5 stars from me! Good luck!

Hey man,I think your artwork rocks!
Good Job.
I'd love to read a decent high fantasy comic on Zuda.
Well, this is damn pretty, but like some of the other entries, drags on for a few pages before anything really happens, and even then I still don't really know what's going on and kind of don't care. Also, it took me too long before I figured out what the demon guy and human guy were talking about (the demon guy tricking him...). That whole exchange could have been a lot nastier and clearer, and would have made those few pages more interesting.
Nice work. Real potential
This is Effin' Great. Not enough Warrenesque stuff around here. This fits that impressive bill. Your prolific self gets a hi 5 & a 5starfavefrumthiscreep.
Good to see you back, Furman. You always had a way with narrative. The characterization/dialogue lost me at the end, though. As in...it felt like the persona fluxed too much.
Gorgeous art, as always.
Amazing work. Very Heavy Metal esque...
Wonderful work! You have my vote.
I am very pleased to be a part of Zuda again! Thank you for all the kind words and thoughts everyone!
The best, the story is short, goes to the point and relates exactly what is needed for the story to move forward.
The art is on the masterpiece side, just too many forced poses, maybe because of photography references, but that doesnt take away the top notch quality here.
The main character personality is a little on the cliché side, it sounds like somebody from the 21th century talking "he has my number" is that a reference to a phone number?
He also said that the story is a little closer to the present, 73 bc I think it was, maybe for an inmortal thats close to the present, but is he talking to other inmortals here?
Just a little picking, but from this month batch this is the very best.
Good luck!
The art's fantastic!
Wow, that art is really amazing. Very impressive.
Hey man, what a amazing job!!
One of the best artworks I've seen on Zuda.
Five stars and no doubt you got my vote.
I really want to see more of this.
Congrats!!
Yeah! Being a history/supernatural nerd this really appeals to me and the artwork is awesome. That said, Romans being foes of a British tribe in 73 B.C. Ouch: the Romans didn't make any direct contact with Britain until Julius Caesar in 55 B.C., and they didn't firmly conquer these lands until Emperor Claudius' reign around 43 A.D.
Aside from the anachronism, this is one of my favourite's in this month's competition and I love the style and theme. Good luck!
Absolutely fantastic. I think for my tastes and pesruasions, this is up with the best I've seen or read on Zuda. Inspiring for this old dog.
Sexxy, beautiful, totally entertaining. five stars, my vote!
Oh man, DID I LOVE THIS!.
I have a warped sense of humor so I totally got your jokes.
I love the undead who are crass. Glad to see black and white as your coloring choice as that's the form in movies and in art I gravitate to. I'm voting for you and wish you all the best.
I love all the nuances and extras also, since I'm the type who likes it busy in a panel. Maybe it's the leftie in me.
Oh, and the back and forth just reminds me of that movie with Bill Campbell...I forget the name but he was from the present and sent back into the past and his humor was wicked. Anyway, I can't wait to see your story as it progresses!
stunning, I wish you win this month.
YEah!!! I like it a lot!! the art is awesome and the story rocks.
incredible art work! I love the story and the dark humor of it. You have my vote! Best wishes and good luck.
The art is indeed impressive and well rendered. I do have a few criticisms, however. In page one, I have absolutely no idea which one is the main character. All the all the figures have the same amount of "importance" on the page and no individual stands out. Use composition to tell the viewer what's the most important thing in each frame. The second thing that really distracted me was the fact that the corpse and the druid seem to change location with no explanation why. First they're on this cool snakey alter thing with the druids daughters (who also seem to move around, even though they're dead), then they're in a grave yard, then they're on a mountain top, then they're on an entirely different alter with twin angels on it. Make up your mind, dude. Other than that, the artwork is lush and dense and fun to explore. Good job.
Rich art; full of life. Eerie storyline. I certainly want more.
Oh my! I LOVE the art in this piece! This is, by far the strongest entry when it comes to the art... The writing, however, isn't drawing me in (pardon the pun). Good luck this month!
Jorge pretty much summed up my thoughts on this one. You've got some gorgeous pages in there--especially the first.
The art is good. Sometimes gorgeous, at points a bit wonky (the swords on page 6 for example). Some of the images, while beautiful, seem out of place or distracting-- almost a little too referenced (like the eyeless daughter corpse). But, in the end, the thing that really kept me from enjoying this piece was the corpse's dialogue. It seemed so grossly out of place for the time period. I mean, I was willing to let it slide in the captions. Who knows? The creature is immortal maybe the captions were him speaking to us from the present? But he also uses the same modern day, and rather cliche, vernacular when he's back in 73 BC. That seems like way too much of a stretch to expect the reader to accept. There's real potential in your art though. Unfortunately, I think it's overshadowed by inconsistent character/story choices.
I voted for you in hopes to see how much better your art can get and its already great.
This is some fantastic art. This strip has tons of promises (gets my vote), but deserves a better title...
This one got my vote. I'd really love to see where you take this!
Hey Furman....Fav, 5 Stars and my Vote.
I couldn't resist, this is so awesome.
The art blows my mind. The detail, a great horror/fantasy book. The look of the main character is awesome. Got to say it is badass.
Great art! The detail is totally increible!!! Congratulations!
I didn't like the "comical" tone of the main character but the art in the third page is awesome!
Amazing artwork! Had of for this one.
Amazing stuff as always, i love the time you choosed for the story. Voted and rated. Good luck Furman!
This is your best entry yet! The depth and workmanship is stellar! If this is the first entry I've read, I'm really curious about the rest of the field.
This is all sorts of insane. In a good way.
