Leprenomicon
While on a bike tour of Ireland, Michael O'Conner, comes across the aftermath of an armored car hijacking. The vehicle is turned over in a field while both the guards and the crooks are dead. Gold bars litter the scene. As Michael approaches, something catches his eye. A little man dressed in green appears from the other side of the field and scurries over to the gold. Michael rubs his to eyes in order to clear his vision and suddenly the man and the gold bars are gone! Michael begins reading up on Irish folklore, convinced that he actually spotted a leprechaun. Years later Michael is awakened to the sound of a woman singing. Tracing the source of the singing to the woods near his home, he meets a ghostly banshee! Asked about her singing, the banshee confesses she sings for him. Michael realizes that he is going to die! Cashing out his lifesavings and transferring it to gold bars, Michael takes a plane to Ireland and travels to the very field where he saw the armored car accident years before. There, he seeds the field with the gold and waits. Soon the little man dressed in green appears and Michael shoots him with a tranquilizer dart! Capturing the Leprecon, Margel, and all of his gold, Michael explains that the Leprecon must help him escape death or he'll never see his treasure again!

Nominated you for the Invitational.
This is still one of my fav's and of course it made my list of comics I would like to see back on Zuda in the upcoming Invite contest.
This was great. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I loved the humor. As a lover of myths it was a plus for me. Want more stories.
Pretty funny. Good art style too. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Thanks RKB! To RKB and anyone else who liked our comic... Thank you so much for your support and thank you to Zuda for the chance to compete. This has been a great experience. As for the future of Leprenomicon, the plan is to try to find a publisher for the series (because it would be nice to be paid/break even on the effort). However, failing that, we will publish the series online for free because we too, would like to give Michael and Margel a life beyond Zuda. FYI: I just set up a blog for us at http://leprenomicon.blogspot.com/ Check it out and we'll keep everyone appraised of our situation and maybe even publish some extra artwork and story info to keep ya interested. This had been awesome! Regards... -G-
You guys had my vote sorry you didn't win. So tell us what happens to leprenomicon from here? I still enjoy the story and want to follow it.
Really great work. Great job Fernando!
I really did try with this but I must be looking at a different strip to you people, because this one irritates me on almost every level! I'm really not the kind of guy who heaps criticism on anyone without wishing them well at the same time though, so I must just assume that this one flew over my head. Best of luck in the future tho' and congratulations on having the guts to draw a horse SO many times - you're a glutton for punishment! So you are!
I'm totally hooked on the story already. Good foolish stuff!
Funny! It's different. Very nice artwork.
Great stuff; keep up the good work!!! *Waits for the bag of money Fernando promised* :p
Fernando you are the best!!! Keep on drawing.....
Lola
Come on Yena don't put down the Leprechaun... please :)
...I've gotta say, that for all your trashing of Rey's comic. You've got nothing to back it up.
Great mix of storytelling and humor. When can we see more?
Wow! I didn't know what to expect but this was funny and consistently surprising. I loved the dialogue and the exchanges between Michael and Margel. I would love to continue exploring Irish folklore and mythology with these two as my guide. Good artwork too. Good expressions and nice action without over-doing it. Well done. Five stars...and my vote... for you!
Creative concept & very good writing. Exceptional art. But again, seeing the synopsis used as a prologue. Other than that, very well done. I'm just not a big fan of humorous comics (sounds kinda redundant don't it?), but there's a lot of people who are. Good luck.
Enjoyable, professional and clean by not my favorite story.
Although I don't think I like this one as much as some of the others, I did find the art to be enjoyable. The story felt like you were being dropped into something mid-stream, which I am sure is because of the 8 panel constraints, making it difficult to sell someone, myself included, on the idea. Best of luck and I would surely like to read more of the story.

Fernview: It's cool to know I'm not the only fan of Darby O'Gill. I really liked a lot of the comics on Zuda (just check out my list of favorites), but my vote has to go with Leprenomicon. All of you did a great job with the eight screens, and with the way you used the synopsis to set things up. Lucky charms, and a horror movie with two many sequals could really mess up a great bit of Irish folklore. Great design on the leprechaun, not too funny but looks like the fantasy character it is.
Thanks, RKB, for the kind words and for your vote! Hopefully, Margel and Michael will have a regular home here at Zuda!
BOW TO FERNANDO!

This one was surprising and made me chuckle. I like the art a lot and I really want to read more. What a neat idea for a webcomic! Good luck to the team who made it!

Gregg, Fernando, and Matthew: Your not fans of the movie "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" by any chance are you? A guy and his Leprechaun makes a nice buddy comic. I just hate you only had 8 screens to work with, and couldn't start off with the death sentence from the banshee. You have given us something to look forward to if you win.
Thanks, RKB. I loved Darby O'Gill and the Little People, but we did make an effort to stay away from the Lucky Charms brand of leprechaun in designing Margel. We wanted a leprechaun that was a bit closer to the mythology and a little less greeting card-ish. I really appreciate your comment regarding the amount of pages we had to work with. It did play a part in what you see of LEPRENOMICON. Hopefully, we'll have the opportunity to bring you more.
Thanks to everyone who liked LEPRENOMICON and voted for us. Let's hope we get the opportunity to bring you more of Michael and Margel and their bizarre exploration of Irish folklore! To those of you who didn't like it, please vote for us anyway. We'll still take your vote! Thanks!--- Fernando
Hahahaha, I couldn't stop laughing. I'd hella buy prints of the last page. Nice work! I want more!
I like the art and the writing was funny and clever. I'd pay to read this series. Since this plot was just a tidbit from what the blurb said, it sounds like this story could never run dry and has room for character depth, which is what I like to see in my stories. I hope these guys don't give up whether they win through Zuda or not. They make a great team!
Very funny. That last page was hilarious.
This is the only submission that would work as a webcomic. There's room for a lot of plot and story arches, not to mention how each page could be uploaded on a weekly basis and still keep me interested. I like the art and the writing is hilarious. I hope this wins!
This needs to win. Awesome!
Refreshing & Funny
Well you are another one I would like to see win. I love outragous concpets because they can be hard to work with. you guys have done well and I would love to see more.
This is great. For so many years Gregg talked and talked and talked about punching a thoroughbred right in the face ... good to see that he's finally let out his agression in a constructive way ... good luck guys!
the art was ok. pacing was ok. nothing spectacular. but dialogue does succeed in being funny.
Yeah go Fernando! That horse punching scene is awesome.
Fernando is an amazing artist. Everyone vote Fernando!
This one confused me. I think it's sort of funny though, and the art is pretty good.
Great job, guys! I'd LOVE to see how this began...!
Finally a new comic that makes you want to read more!An extraordinary collaboration of words and images. This one's a keeper. Bookmark it and enjoy.
Awesome work guys!!! I laughed so hard I almost spit out my beer...
That was fun!
The art suited the story, dialogue wasn't awkward...
I enjoyed.
It has a guy punching a horse at the end.....how can you not love that?
Out of all the different strips only this one could hold my attention for years. It is a great start and can't wait for more. Imagine this on adult swim! It would be a perfect fit.
Everyone VOTE FERNANDO!
I gave it a high rating for its potential. The story interests me but wouldn't have followed it w/o reading the synopsis. This is just the preview though so no harm, no foul. Think the story has legs. The art is okay but that's the piece I'd work on. We can't just vote on the strip. We have to take the synopsis into account. Otherwise, what's the point of the synopsis.
I'm digging it. It's got good pacing. It's funny. The artwork looks a little rushed on a few panels but overall good.
Hi Fernando,
Very funny. Good job. Now get back to pencilling Jughead.
Dan

I always hated Mr. Ed on nick-at-nite so 3 cheers on the pooka ass-kicking! It's funny and the art works fine too.
Gregg says: We're glad you liked it. Yup! As the story goes on we eventually pay tribute to a lot classic comedy. FYI: It was a tough decision for us to go with this slapstick sequence as opposed to the origin story. In the end, we thought that this would be the most entertaining eight pager but there's so much more depth to this series... Hope we can bring it to you...
You got my vote!
Very funny - very creative! Thanks for the good laugh! You've got my vote!!!
