Dual
At age ten, Bill Jensen and his “imaginary” friend, Yasu, inadvertently unleash a devastating power that kills three schoolmates.
A decade later, Bill wrestles with making his way in the world while dealing with the inner turmoil of determining whether Yasu is devil or delusion. Still haunted by the confusing events of their childhood, Bill and Yasu struggle to recognize their extraordinary power and purpose.
Bill’s secret power mysteriously begins to attract the interest of bizarre creatures, including a bulimic werewolf and a man claiming to be an ancient soul-eating dragon. The power’s pull might also be contributing to Bill’s turbulent romance with an unstable witch, named Corina, and luring the attention of a psychotic serial killer.
New aspects of the power begin to manifest just in time to help Bill and Yasu deal with escalating threats, which send the companions spiraling toward an uncertain destiny-- heroic salvation or evil oblivion?

This is a real 5 star comic. I like the unconventional supernatural angle (no vamps or warewolves). Each update is awesome:).
I keep waiting for the part of the narrative that says "and that's how I got here". I know that until Bill says that, things won't get any better :(.
Still amazing, my friend. DUAL updates are one of the highlights of my week, so keep 'em coming!
This month's competitor Sci-Fi Drive-by makes some bold predictions about the near future. Including (if you look at the bookcart behind the alien in panel 4 of the Library scene) a print edition of Dual!
Love the art, the bloody clothes, and the story arc. And, I am anxious to see where the arc is going. Thank you for this Cornelius.
I love the mythological backstories. This David character is very interesting. And I'm excited to find out all that a "fork soul" entails.
michaeljasper- Thanks, man. Always an honor to get feedback from Zuda family.
--
Maelstrom- Thank you for stickin’ it out and offering the generous praise!
--
gymicrae- Thanks for the support. Amy Winehouse? But Trixie is a blonde? ;) I amalgamated a few references and my own imagination to create the motel. I was trying to achieve a generic motel look.
--
Dr. Toe Jam- Thank you sir. You are a damn fine human being and I am proud to have you reading and commenting on my work.

Thanks to everybody for reading, favoriting, commenting. The support is a great shot in the arm.

It just seems to get better every panel. Great job!
Mike, the sunset sequence was the best art yet. Superior.
Question: Do you think that Amy Winehouse will appreciate you modeling Trixie after her?
Also, that motel looks familiar.
Just keeps getting better! Can't wait to see what happens next!
I really liked the subtle change in art style for David's flashbacks. Here's hoping we get to see more Kanji, too. Good stuff!
barnabybones- Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. I put a bit of effort into the characters’ voices. Yasu’s speech is patterned after my childhood peers. And it isn’t too far removed from my own sloppy way of communicating.
--
Crunky!!- Thanks for reading and taking time to comment. I’ve put some thought into this project and I am glad some imagination shows through. The punctuation on your username makes me want to shout!
--
passive- I am pleased you are enjoying the story. I compose little bios for all the characters. In an original draft of the Dual’s first season’s script, characters were given a montage page to explore back-story.
I love your flashback sequences. I appreciate the level of depth you give the characters. Nicely done.
You have a grand imagination. I am looking forward to more.
Real great comic. I especially love Yasu's look, and most of all the way he talks. Sounds just the way the people I grew up around talk, and I haven't seen many writers that peg it so perfectly. Serious kud's, man.
Dwight L MacPherson- Thanks for stickin’ out all the turns.
--
Passive- The coffee shop scene's most definitely an homage to Pulp Fiction, nice observation.
--
Michaeljasper- I’m honored. Thanks for reading.
--
Stephenmakestart- Thanks for the support! It goes a long way.
--
PNG pyro- It is always nice to have a voice chime in from anywhere out there on the interweb. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

Hey, been a while since I chimed in, but I've been reading for a while. I'm really enjoying your story!
wow, this just keeps getting better, great work.
Another excellent page, my friend! A very intriguing turn, to be sure.
I finally got a chance to read all 77 pages so far. I'm hooked! Love Bill's inner turmoil about his "powers" and the surprise of Yasu's abrupt departure. And now you've got a dragon? Dude, I'm hooked.
Thank you for the detailed carnage. I likes. The coffee shop reminds me of the set in Pulp Fiction. I love how Bill is still dripping blood. Where is the, "Wolf" when you need him?
Another unexpected turn. Love it!
Dwight L. MacPherson- Yes, David is a bit of a B.A.
--
shemmemmit- Always a pleasure to have you onboard the Dual express.
--
Alarid- I like the conjecture. You’ll just have to stay tuned.
--
MadMother- Your WTF comments are always welcome here. Thanks for reading and commenting.
--
Yarr- You are correct, sir! I hope it does indeed get interesting… The Dual blog elaborates a bit on the subject of the synopsis.
--
monk- I am not sure anyone has accused Dual of being inspirational before now. Thanks for the encouragement.
--
dmon- Thanks! I will do my best.
--
All the comments are enormously appreciated. It is a real shot in the arm to read your feedback.

Love the ART! I really liked the concept and the way your telling the story. Keep up the good work.
wow, just knocked this one back with a press pot of JBM. you guys are seriously inspiring man and I can't wait to plot out my story. thanks for the inspiration and the push. this and bayou I think are my favs.
Hey, it's the ancient soul-eating dragon from the synopsis! Whoot! Now it's really gonna get interesting...
quasilucid - I was referring to the entire comic. I failed to mention that I love "WTF" more than anything in the world.
I am assuming that David has a similar power to Bill, but does he only eat demon souls? And do they come back like Yasu?
Oooo, intrigue. And I like Bill's last request. The dialogue always rocks.
Excellent new page, my friend! Looks like David is one guy you don't want to mess with.
MadMother- referring to the single screen or the entire comic so far?
--
Stone Mane- We will get back to Yasu after a bit. Most folks are not entirely aware of peculiars. There might be more to the bikers than meets the eye. Check out a brief commentary on the Dual Blog for a little more insight. http://dualzuda.blogspot.com/
Love the comic so far and want to find out what happens with Yasu. By the way do humans know all these "peculiars" exist? Those 2 guys who try to help Bill didn't seem as shocked as they probably should've been.
That was one big "WTF".
Helana Markos- Welcome aboard the Dual express. You’ve made my day. I’ll gladly accept a Troma-esque description/ comparison as a compliment. Thanks.
--
JohnnyZito- All the cool Zuda comics visit Vegas. Thanks. Always humbled to recieve feedback from a Zuda Master.
--
gotosleep- You are a super amazingly awesome human-being. I can tell. Thanks for reading and sharing the encouragement.
--
passive- Glad you approve of the carnage. I am often not sure where my head is.
--
oysterboy- Are you reminded of Ms Winehouse by Trixie’s appearance on screen 73 or screen 75? - I confess. A certain British pop-disaster might have heavily influenced the look of the skank-beast.
--
washleyn- Glad the over-the-top bloodshed strikes a chord. Thanks!
--
Dwight L MacPherson- Hope your blood lust has been assuaged… for now.
--
Defacer607- Thanks! I’m honored to have my work included in your digital comic diet.
I'd like to inform you that you've joined one of 10 comics I anticipate every update of.
Good work.
SWEET BLOODY ACTION! I LIKES IT. :D
Ohhhh yeah! I'm liking the violence! And the monster is awesome!
Wowzers there's some crazy action going on in here since I last checked in! That girl reminds me of Amy Winehouse too! Great work.
Wow! I agree with you. These last two screens are the bees knees. I especially love the guy getting his arm severed. The powerful, violence conveyed makes me smile. Well done sir. I like where your head is.
I only just Discovered this today. And it's awesome. really really super amazingly awesome forever.
Vegas, Baby.

I'm with Christine (helena), awesome monsters.
I love how...squishy...all of your monsters look. There's something almost Troma-esque about them.
Just hammered through the whole thing this morning. Great looking art and I'm diggin' the story. Interested for more, sir.
Davidlevack- Thanks for stickin' it out and leaving some feedback. I too wish the art were stronger. It hasn't quite grown on me yet, but I'm working on it.
Dual is lettered with the Wild and Crazy ZAP Pack font purchased from Comic Craft. I create the speech balloons and do all the lettering in Flash.
strike the "but only" :\
I passed on this strip at least once before because of the art, today I figured I'd push through to some later pages to get a feel for it, and the arts grown on me, but only because the story is solid. Very nicely done. What font are you using for dialog? if I may ask.
doctorherbivore- On the subsequent pages, things have gone from bad to worse.
---
Dwight L. MacPherson- Always glad to have you on board.
---
Alarid- I think that question would open up its own can of worms.
---
michaeljasper- thanks for checking things out and offering feedback. Your support goes a long way.
---
passive- I appreciate the encouraging observations. This page, along with the next two pages, are some of my favorites artistically.
---
Shane Berryhill- Sadly, I think many of us have dated her.
---
Foz- A very generous compliment, sir. Many thanks.
74 knocked my socks off. Fantastic work.
I think I used to date her.
I love the last panel looking up at Bill and the whore-monster from behind Bill. Awesome. I think I know her. Great plot development...Bill is definitely rock-bottom searching.
I'm just now checking out this comic, and so far it's great -- trippy storyline, amazing art and colors, and the sort of idea that sticks with you. Urban fantasy and horror at its best! Looking forward to reading more.
My response: "What are you selling, stranger?"
