Dual
At age ten, Bill Jensen and his “imaginary” friend, Yasu, inadvertently unleash a devastating power that kills three schoolmates.
A decade later, Bill wrestles with making his way in the world while dealing with the inner turmoil of determining whether Yasu is devil or delusion. Still haunted by the confusing events of their childhood, Bill and Yasu struggle to recognize their extraordinary power and purpose.
Bill’s secret power mysteriously begins to attract the interest of bizarre creatures, including a bulimic werewolf and a man claiming to be an ancient soul-eating dragon. The power’s pull might also be contributing to Bill’s turbulent romance with an unstable witch, named Corina, and luring the attention of a psychotic serial killer.
New aspects of the power begin to manifest just in time to help Bill and Yasu deal with escalating threats, which send the companions spiraling toward an uncertain destiny-- heroic salvation or evil oblivion?

Great Stuff.
crazy crazy and really cool! i'm pumped to see where this goes!
Great stuff, man. This comic's got its hooks in me.
Sorry I haven’t responded here for a spell.
----------------------------
infernalbbq: Yeah, the first eight pages could’ve gone anywhere. Glad the following pages converted you. Hope Dual continues to earn your conversion.
----------------------------
passive: as we can now see, the scrapes were given Yasu and then transferred over to Bill when they merged. An insignificant detail… or is it?
----------------------------
marauder999: I aim to please. I have a grand vision for this story. I hope you enjoy the rest of the ride.
-----------------------------
sememmit: scoot back and get comfy, there are 40 screens left to go… in part 1.
-----------------------
saulone: thanks. I will try. Look forward to seeing how you go on with your bad self as well.
-------------------
washleyn: then I’m officially honored. Thanks for your support.
-------------------
jamicfin: Thanks. As much as I dig the monologues, they subside a little as the action picks up in the second half of part one.
----------------------
ptimony: thanks. I want to make it clear that I do not condone the eating of friends, imaginary or otherwise.
---------------------------------
steve steiner: Yes!
----------------------------------
RKB: Hmm, what might have happened, indeed? Perhaps something to be explored down the road? The demise of HDDVDs and rise of Blue-Rays brings memories of those mid-ninties DVD conversations to the surface.
------------------------------
Btimmony: Thank you, sir!
--------------------------------
Bryy Miller: Is it his imagination?
-------------------------------
Peruzzo: Thanks for your support. I hope the continued story doesn’t disappoint.
----------------------------------
Lamison: thanks for your encouragement. I will earnestly endeavor not to eff things up too much.
...so don't eff it up!
...so don't eff it up!
Eff! This is so effing good it's making me crazy! The way you leave me hanging off the cliff every update is agonizingly delicious! The art is effing bad azz! Really unique style! And the story is effing addictive! Man! This redefines the term bad azz! This is one of the two best comics on Zuda...and maybe one of the top seven comics ever to exist on the whole effing planet!
this is my favorite Zuda comic by far. Keeps getting better! great stuff.
This guy seriously needs to get a hold of his imagination.
Awesome!
The i have to eat my buddy to get my powers is a great visual to be able to keep coming back to again and again. Very good update. What would have happened if the monster had ate Yasu I wonder??? I had the same dvd talk with my dad some years back, so nice bit of dialogue there.
Oh my gosh! Love the visuals! That monster is awesome.
MONSTER!
I love the new screens. The fact that he has to eat his imaginary friend is awesome.
This story rocks! I especially like the monologues, the one about little Clark Kent was awesome, and the new one is really good too. Keep up the awesome work!
This is getting better and better all the time. I'm officially hooked.
Go on with your bad self! Keep em coming :)
Wow! I'm on the edge of my seat!
Great stuff man. I loved the first 8 pages and it's only getting better.
This is great stuff. Keep it coming. I can't help but notice that two weeks in the past, Bill is missing his bandages and scrapes...I hope this is a foreshadowing of action to come...very cool stuff here. I love the conflict of us, and perhaps Bill, not knowing whether he is a hero or villian. I hope this moral ambiguity is a staple of the story line.
I've gotta say fella, your original 8 pages really didn't grab me. There was something too...I dunno, pithy about them as a segment and I didn't have much confidence the story would sustain my interest over time.
.
I can share my inital doubts now without being just an arse that rains on someone else's parade because I've gotta hand it to ya Mike, I truly like the way this is progressing. So consider yourself as having gained a convert and keep up the good work, cheers for the read.
Thanks for the support everyone.
RKB- Text boxes, or captions, can be tricky. I attempt use them a more for theme and tone rather than plot… hopefully a supplemental tool that complements the visuals without being redundant.
i loved the update, normally I hate text boxes but I really enjoyed the what power would you want inner dialogue.

I also enjoyed the this is not what it looks like time switch.

Of course the art really stands out, esp. the colors great job Michael.
Strong update. This comic continues to intrigue. Keep it up!
I'm hoping that Carina can somehow sense that Bill is vaguely magical. I mean, Yasu probably makes him magical-ish...and so if she can sense that, she won't freak out about whatever's chained in the tub. Otherwise, that's gonna get freakishly awkward once the rewind is over.
VERY strong update. That thing in the tub... wow.
Whoa! Wow, you have such an awesome flow going here. And you're doing a fantastic job keeping us hooked. I'm digging the whole thing - art, dialogue, story, style, etc. Like a few other comics over here, I'm wishing this one was a daily.
Good guess... but no, she Carina cannot see Yasu.
dfodmm kikrji uuummmm ttrust ,,, interrrupted ghost conversation like it''s all nnormall..,,, oh crap she can see Yasu can't she?
I will attempt to be more diligent about it, but I am making semi-frequent updates to the Zuda-production-blog:

Super cool, keep up the good work.
great looking art!
Fan-Tastic. Something that feels truly unique, and deserving of the win. I will stick to your updates like glue!
So wonderful in many ways. Inventive story, playful, and dark. I love your drawing style too. Just lovely. I look forward to the watching the story unfold.
please sir, may i have some more.
As a bassist, I feel it's my place to say thank for putting in two bassists, that's a really nice bass Dale's playing, and for abusing such a nice bass, I will find where he lives and slap him around a bit. Where does he live by the way?
Thanks for the support.
If you dig the ride half as much as I’ve enjoyed working on it, you’re in for a real treat.
I'm so glad to see that this is finally updating! I love the concept behind this, and I enjoy the way the plot is shaping up. And not only that, your artwork has definitely improved! I mean, the first 8 pages are phenominal, but the faces of the children seemed...odd, in comparison to the rest of your detailed style. But now, as you draw young adults- it's flawless. It looks utterly amazing. I have no words to describe the sheer awesomeness of these new panels- all I can do is babble.
I bought my computer at The Argyle Cat.
AWESOME!!!
hey, it's nice to see dual again.you're doing a nice work, and i really want to see more. congratulations!
I dig it!
Far out artwork, as usual, and I like the story.
Gimme mo'!
This blows my mind. I love that it explores duality and the deconstruction of dichotomy in a straightforward way. And the characters are more and more likable and interesting as the story continues.
This artwork is beautiful and non-conventional, and I enjoy the narrator's voice. It's smart. The diction is subtly poetic but fun, and the dialogue really pops and adds to the character development. I'm excited to see where this goes.
Congratulations Mike! Great start. I agree with C. Edward Sellner that you have a great title and logo. It was brilliant to use "DUAL" meaning two and "Duel" signifying conflict. I love how each letter in your new title has a duality...just like the main character.
Great start, congrats :)
Great color pallete and dialogue.
Nice to see a comic with some LA references. Great artwork and I'm liking Carina already. =)
dude your art is terrific!
New screens are great! Glad to see this up and running. Love the new logo too.
