Celadore has failed. Christian, an evil corporate vampire has lit the day candle, which allows vampires to walk in the sun. Celadore must set out to destroy the candle, only her soul has been bounced into the comatose body of Evelyn Massey, an 11yr old girl. Plagued by the ghost of the actual Evelyn, Celadore is eventually joined by Sam, the over-eager next door neighbor, and her old posse: Jams, the only Frankenstein ever born of two others; Wax, Celadore's ex-boyfriend; And Ness, Celadore's business partner, tooth fairy, & qualified masseuse. Adventure, hilarity, and surprises ensue in a world where even magic isn't safe from capitalism.
This month's competitor Sci-Fi Drive-by makes some bold predictions about the near future. Including (if you look at the bookcart behind the alien in panel 4 of the Library scene) a print edition of Celadore!

Loved the story; just read it from start to finish and I truly hope you decide to continue with it, regardless of what direction you decide to take it from here.

What, no more Celadore?! But the art is awesome, the story is gripping and the characters are well rounded. This is something I'd actually pay for, which says something cause I'm usually tighter than Jack Benny (Old radio star, look it up if you don't know). This was so good I read it in one sitting, now I want more...
Alright, what do we have to do for Zuda to bring Cel back? I'm all for sacrificing virgins under a full moon with dribbly candles and all that sorta thing..

I just finished reading the whole thing. I read it in parts, so it took me a few weeks. Great story, a light, fun read! Some parts were a little confusing since there is so much backstory, but I just learned to read more carefully:). Great job! I look forward to more of your work; being it Celadore or otherwise!
4 - Joseph's plans were part of a larger story, should Celadore ever continue.

5 - Eve was going to possess him, but when she noticed Cel was giving her big pleading baby eyes not to do it, she stopped.

6 - Sam's adventures from 1950 to now would make up an entire 60 page story on its own! Some unintentional romance may have happened, but he always carried a torch for Evie. (The girl in the woodstock photo is his grandmother ;o)

1 - Cel had told Eve by this point her age would stop in her mid-20s and the eternal life granted by the Mark would kick in. Sam, being attached to the cube, wouldn't age at all.

2 - Cel had some Pogo juice (which the berries are diluted in) at the end of chapter 2, but only enough to fix her. Sam's been eating them raw for three years. He's like Obelix who fell into the potion when he was a boy. ;o)

3 - 'You wish' is the only phrase that frees a genie, but her wish did kind of work, unbeknownst to her. Later when she does finally say it, she's not holding the cube. None of them were aware Sam only had to be around to make wishes come true, they no longer had to actually hold it. If only there was an instruction manual...
Wow. I'm super-psyched so many people are still finding Celadore, and leaving comments! Love it! You guys are all awesome. While I can't exactly take my Celadore show on the road elsewhere (pesky contracts ;o) if enough interest keeps coming this way, who knows what could happen? I'd certainly love to keep on doing it. :oD
Er... sorry, also forgot to ask some questions since I'm a bit dense, I apologize if they're really stupid or if they have already been answered before:
1. I didn't quite get the age discussion between Eve and Sam on pg. 141 how she will still age and be 25 while he will still remain 12?
2. Why was Cel afriad of driving too fast on pg. 132, saying she was the only one who wasn't durable. I thought she already ate Wax's pogo berries?
3. When Eve wished Sam was free of the cube, why wasn't it granted? Does that mean he can choose which wishes to grant?
4. Er... Just wanted to make sure about something, why was Joseph trying to kill Eve?
5. Okay, I know this one is kinda hypothetical ^_^;;, but in chapter 1, why didn't Eve just possess Christian (pg. 38).
(6. Did Sam ever 'get together' with any girls when he was in the 1960's? :P )

It's been a long time since I have been so engroseed in any series, and I ended up finishing this in a couple hours afterwards of find this site (I don't even remember how I got here anymore haha). xD
Like the previous commenters, I am also curious as to if you are able or planning to continue this series elsewhere, or even publish your own hard copies because I would be extremely interested in purchasing one if you do. ;)

So Zuda decided not to extend Celadore? What are the chances of releasing a indepentant reprint sometime in the future?
Celadore is done?!?!? That can't be true! Why? Celadore, Bayou, and High Moon are the best things on Zuda. This makes no sense to me. I thought for sure Celadore would be the next Zuda comic to make it to printed hard copy, and that it would definitely go on to 200+ pages. I'm pissed.
WHAT!? NO MORE? this is my favorite comic here at zuda, i have read it all the way through like ten times! you have no ideal how sad it is to hear this comic is done! Do you have any plans of continuing the comic on your own?

Look in the May 2008 archives. They're all in there. Tales focusing on Ness's psychic services, Wax's mercenary services, Jams's DVD addiction, would-be vampire ruler Anna's nightlife, how Evie ended up in a coma, and one that sheds a little light on what Sam was talking about, with the map, in chapter three, and how he was master of his own destiny, so to speak. :o)
Excellent comic, enjoyed every minute of it....Look forward to hopefully seeing more soon...
I enjoyed every panel of this and wished it never ended. This is the best one on the site.

I kind of wish this wasn't finished, I'm totally down for more Celadore! I think your style is pretty original, and so is your plot line, I mean seriously, this is made of pure cute mixed with joy cream. As foz said somewhere, it's celadorable!

I have yet to hear back anything at all about my proposed next three chapters, so I don't have a definitive no about more Celadore. It may be back, who knows?! Not me. For now, this is indeed it, and so far it looks like the ending is satisfactory enough for most, so that's awesome.

In the meantime, if you loved Celadore, tell your friends to come and read the whole darn lot without those pesky seven day waits no longer interrupting the story. Tell 'em to hang in there, 'cos it gets better, and it's not all about vampires. I know we're all SO done with vampires. ;o)
Nice ending, not really what I would have expected, but nice. Sam really was busy, wasn't he? Hehehehe.... And hopefully this won't actually be the final end, but if so, then I'm good with it. Laters.

I've really loved this comic. The plot is engaging and playful. The style fits perfectly. I'm definitely looking forward to more.
Oh wow -- this was a ton of fun. Just got caught up on all the zaniness and adventure, and now... it's over. Hopefully, not forever. Loved all the characters and the plot twisted in all the right, unexpected ways. And the art is just stupendous. NICE WORK!

Yeah, gotta love that twitch! To paraphrase Miles O'brien, "They hate temporal mechanics!" Hehehe... and now the third chapter's finale. Should be interesting what they decide to do about Celadore's original body.
The pacing in season 1 is to die for. Literally! And I love the art, and the storyline kicks all kinds of ass. Looking forward to reading MORE!
